from Adelaide Hills
I’m not sure if I’d pick this as an Adelaide Hills wine in a blind tasting. It has the elegance and freshness that speak of the region, but it’s also dark and concentrated with a full, plush palate. It sits at the lower end of full-bodied and has ripe power from the fruit and abundant, fine tannins. It has seen time in a combination of French and American oak and is all the better for it. Plums and berries nestle in with spice and a touch of vanilla. There’s more spice and caramel on the finish. A super-solid wine that will look better and better as it opens up over a few days, if you have the patience!
