Domaine Gassier employs a house style with this Côtes du Rhône, sourcing fruit on both sides of the Rhône River, specifically from Signargues, Cairanne and Rasteau. The blend is 85% grenache and 15% syrah, all from old vines. Michel Gassier is known for producing wines of immense structure, displaying concentrated fruit when in their youth, yet giving way to leathery and spicy characteristics as they age. Like any good Côtes du Rhône, the Halos de Jupiter shows exactly what the winemaker is striving for in a more approachable and affordable style than their upper reserve of wines. So no need to empty the savings account and then wait ten years. This one is easy on the wallet and ready to drink from the get go.
