The wine is named after the semi-arid north facing terraced slopes that grow some of the finest pinot noir in Central Otago. Planted in 2003, the vineyard is certified organic, the fruit is handpicked and the resulting wine is superb, with intensity, elegance and agebility. The wine spends 14 months in oak (25% new) and now at 3-years-old, that oak is integrated into abundant fruit. Ripe dark cherry and plum are the main event, with hints of wild herbs, all nestled together with fine grained tannins and great length.
